New POPs Regulations & Household Soft Furnishings

We’re changing the way we receive, store and process Waste Upholstered Domestic Seating (WUDS) containing Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) this month to reflect changes in legislation.

The guidance states that products such as sofas, sofa beds, armchairs, kitchen and dining room chairs, office chairs, bean bags etc, (including any part made of or containing leather, synthetic leather, other fabric or foam), can no longer be recycled or accepted at landfill and must be destroyed through incineration.

We will continue to accept such products, but will charge a small additional fee to cover the costs of correct waste management. Find out more here: Persistent Organic Pollutions (POPs) – Upholstered Furniture (rcollard.com)
