Employee Benefits

Training & development

We’re passionate about developing our people and providing fantastic opportunities to progress in an exciting industry. We ensure our employees receive the training, career development, benefits, and recognition they need and deserve.

Through regular reviews with line managers, we offer the following:

  • Training that helps you to do your current job role better. This might include internal and external courses that provide technical or specialist training
  • Training leading to a professional or academic qualification. We encourage our people to pursue continuous professional development and, where appropriate, to gain further qualifications
  • Management training to boost your supervisory skills and management development programmes
  • Graduate development programmes and apprenticeship schemes

“My Collard apprenticeship has brought out the best in me. I’ve developed so many practical and life skills here that I can use on a daily basis, and have achieved qualifications that help secure my future. Looking back, I’ve grown so much in confidence too.

Apprenticeships

More studying after school isn’t for everyone. Some people are more enthusiastic about learning on the job and doing a trade they’re interested in.

If you’re eager to get hands-on practical experience whilst gaining a recognised qualification, our apprenticeship programme could be the start of your long-term career with the Collard Group.

Suppose you’re appointed as a trainee or apprentice. We’ll carefully select a training partner for you – including professional training bodies, local colleges, and universities – to ensure you get the most enriching learning experience available and allow you to grow your skills and experience with us.

Many trainees and apprentices are currently employed in various areas of our business – for example, mechanical engineering, HGV driving, quantity surveying, HR, accounts, and finance. They get to experience what it’s like to work in the construction and waste sector while learning from the team around them.

Graduate & management development

As a graduate, you’ll be empowered to add value to the projects you’ll be working on. You’ll benefit from the experience and support of the team around you and be able to create meaningful relationships with your peers and the senior team.

We understand how important professional development is to graduates, so if you decide to work towards your professional qualifications – while on the programme – we’ll provide the help and support you need.
