training & development

we are passionate about developing our people, providing fantastic opportunities within an exciting industry, and ensuring that all employees receive the training, career development, benefits and recognition they need.

Through regular reviews with line managers, we offer:

  • Training relating to the enhancement of skills for an employee’s current job role. This can include internal and external courses, and providing technical or specialist training.
  • Training leading to a professional or academic qualification. Collard encourages employees, who wish to do so, to pursue continuous professional development and where appropriate to gain further qualifications.
  • Management training, including supervisory skills and management development programmes.
  • Graduate development programme and apprenticeship schemes.

Apprenticeships

Studying full time after school isn’t for everyone and we know how enthusiastic some people can be to start learning about their chosen trade or profession on the job.

If you’re eager to get started gaining hands-on practical experience, whilst gaining a recognised qualification, then a Collard apprenticeship programme could be the start you need for a long-term career with the Collard Group.

If you are appointed as a trainee or apprentice, we will carefully select a training partner for you , including the professional training bodies, local colleges and universities, to ensure you get the most enriching learning experience available and allow you to grow your skills and experience.

We have a wide range of trainees and apprentices currently employed in various roles including mechanical engineering, HGV drivers, quantity surveying, HR, accounts and finance. You will experience working to deadlines, involvement in live projects and benefit from the experience of the team around you.

graduate & management development

As a graduate, you will be enabled to add value to the projects you will be working on. You will gain the experience and support of the team around you and create meaningful relationships with your peers and seniors.

We understand how important professional development is to graduates too, so if you decide to work towards your professional qualifications while on the programme, we can provide all the support you require to complete this.
