Plant Service Manager - Eversley

The Collard Group are pleased to offer this exciting new role created to support the business in delivering its long term ambitious growth plans and increasing investment in plant and machinery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implementation of a new plant inspection, servicing and defects management system including the roll out of PDA’s for engineers, supervisors and potentially operators
  • Dealing with warranty claims and ensuring that servicing and repairs are undertaken in a cost effective manner, whilst developing and encouraging a preventative maintenance approach
  • Ensure that 12 monthly inspections are completed thoroughly with an audit and sign off process undertaken by the workshop manager
  • Undertaking random site spot checks to ensure plant operators are completing their daily inspections and service routines correctly
  • Ensure plant down time is minimal and plant availability is maximised
  • Lead and motivate fitters, engineers and welders ensuring their performances are assessed and improved where necessary. Supporting the engineers with diagnosing complex mechanical issues
  • Undertaking toolbox talks to the fitters and engineers
  • Review and improve processes around damage charges including labour and parts
  • Recruitment of fitters and engineers.

The Successful Candidate will:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Experience of fixed and mobile aggregate recycling
  • Have experience in a similar managerial role within either plant hire, contracting, aggregates or recycling industries
  • Have a strong technical knowledge of fixed and mobile aggregate recycling and plant.
  • NEEBOSH equivalent qualifications
  • Have good communication, organisation and team working skills
  • Be looking to develop a long term career with the Collard Group
