Part Time Weighbridge Administrator - Wokingham Metal Recycling

Job Summary

Reporting to the Site Manager, the Weighbridge Administrator is responsible for correctly billing and recording all incoming and outgoing vehicles on the weighbridge system and their overall compliance with site and safety regulations. Supporting with day to day office administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and record all incoming and outgoing vehicle movements via the weighbridge system (FRED)
  • Oversee scrap purchases and produce self-billing invoices
  • Frontline customer service, fielding enquiries from internal and external customers face-to-face, via email and telephone
  • Generate Purchase Orders for office supplies, PPE, tools etc and update received materials on Evolution M system
  • Registration of scrap vehicles received onto the DVLA portal
  • Generate Hazardous Waste transfer Notes where required
  • Maintain office supplies/files as well as PPE stock, requesting when necessary
  • Ensure that all drivers and customers are conversant and compliant with site and safety regulations at all times
  • Production of routine reports in relation to the Depot operations and material inputs and outputs
  • Ensure that general housekeeping standards are maintained to the highest level at all times 
  • Report all accidents and incidents in accordance with company rules, undertaking specific investigations as appropriate.

In order to be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Good working knowledge of the waste and recycling industries. Metal recycling desirable.
  • An interest in metal gradings - knowledge desirable but not essential
  • Good working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment associated to the site permit(s)
  • Effective communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills in order to professionally interact with colleagues and internal customers face to face and over the phone
  • Attention to detail
  • An ability to use Microsoft applications and other IT systems.

A WAMITAB Certificate Of Technical Competence (COTC) is desirable but not essential.
