The project necessitated the demolition of 15 different structures and the form of construction varied from a traditional brick build to steel or reinforced concrete frame with the onsite sports hall and leisure centre being portal framed with composite panels housing a gym and swimming pool.
The project scope required all buildings to be demolished including removal of the 3g multi use sports (MUGA) pitch that was to the rear of the site.
One of the main constraints of the project was the coordination required in maintaining service to the leisure centre throughout the first phase of works as it was a contractual requirement to remain open due to an outstanding client lease agreement.
The second phase relying on the decant of the leisure and utility disconnections being delivered quickly which enabled us to complete demolition and removal of all substructures.
