We’re proud to be celebrating the tenth anniversary of National Lorry Week this week, dedicated to championing the people and organisations that drive business on our roads.
Lorries play a hugely important role in being able to carry out the services we provide for our customers, and our fleet currently comprises over 150 HGVs and trailers. Together, these have travelled almost 64,500,000 miles over the past 12 months alone.
Because lorries are such an integral part of our business, we’re committed to investing in the safety and sustainability of our fleet. We’ve achieved FORS Gold accreditation across the full fleet which is also DVS compliant, and tracked and monitored with the Tachomaster Falcon Dot system. Our lorries are also fitted with 360 Brigade camera systems, the Merridale fuel monitoring system, Tachomaster Analysis, and Checkmaster to monitor licences. What’s more, our fleet replacement policy ensures we operate the latest, safest, and most fuel-efficient fleet, complete with a five-year replacement plan.
We’re also continuously making improvements for the team working with our fleet, including through a robust training programme covering cycle and horse awareness, as well as driver apprenticeships, providing full PPE, and access to a counselling hotline.
We hope you’ll join us in celebrating National Lorry Week 2024!
