As a family business employing 450 people across our nine sites, we have close ties to our local communities and we always welcome the opportunity to give back.
That’s why we’re proud to have supported a host of community events local to our depots this summer, from festivals and fetes to environmental initiatives.
Once again, we took part in the Waste World Cup in Buckinghamshire, which saw dozens of teams get together for a friendly-yet-competitive kickabout, with plenty of opportunities to network and get to know the wider waste management community.
We were happy to provide two skip lorries for the lorry-pull event at Berkshire’s Strongest 2025, which took place in July, and saw 62 athletes test their strength across a range of challenges. We even had a Collard Group representative, with our own Joe Beazley taking 9th place in the very competitive 20m truck pull.
We’ve lent our support to several festivals and fetes this year too, including the St Mary’s Steam & Vintage Festival in Eversley, the Gig on the Green in Yately, where we provided commercial waste services, and the Barton Stacey Fete, which we sponsored. The Fete raised over £6,000 this year, and we were happy to have played our part.
And finally, we’ve donated funds to Longparish Little School, near our Andover recycling facility, to support its Eco School initiative. The Eco School initiative will see the school doing its part for the planet, from litter picking to tree planting, as well as adopting recycling measures for cardboard, foil, and clothing.
