As part of our commitment to social value, we were pleased to support affordable homes provider VIVID with a community clear-up day to get 2026 off to a positive start.
Together with our PPE supplier SMI, we supplied two 6-yard skips as well as litter picking-equipment free of charge for a planned community litter pick at its Denmark Street estate in the North Town area of Aldershot on Monday 12th January.
During the event, dubbed an amnesty, local residents were invited to use the Collard skips, which were conveniently located outside the community centre. The skips provided an easy way for residents to responsibly dispose of bulky household waste, including hardcore, wood, plastic, cardboard and even Christmas trees, to prevent fly-tipping in the local area. A team of volunteers from Collard, VIVID, and SMI spent the day litter picking around the estate and collectively we managed to fill both skips with recycling and waste.
We also provided some waste and recycling awareness materials for VIVID to use at the community hub to encourage residents to keep their estate pristine.
VIVID provides homes, services and support to 80,000 customers across Hampshire, Surrey, Berkshire and West Sussex and currently has 37,000 homes in its portfolio. We’re proud to have worked with VIVID for a number of years and it was great to provide value to their community together.
It was the ultimate new year clear-out and the residents were very grateful to our teams for their hard work during the day.
