Charity and community news - February 2019

Date: 14/02/2019
  • This June we will be sponsoring the CK200 Festival which will celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Kingsley, author of The Water Babies and a local Eversley resident. The event will be held over the weekend of the 14-16th June 2019 and will include a two day arts, literature and music festival, The String Theatre’s adaptation of the Water Babies and a pageant by Charles Kingsley School.

  • Our Reading office held a charity day on Friday 8th February for the Stroke Association Charity. One of our employees recently suffered a stroke and is currently in hospital recovering. Half of the money raised will go to him and the other half to the charity. We raised just under £200.

  • We are always glad to help the local community and were happy to support the 101st Odiham Scout Group with their efforts to raise funds to rebuild their Scout hut in Church Crookham.

  • We continue our support of the Ewshot County Show and this year will be supplying a lorry and skip for a ‘Guess the Weight’ competition. The show will be held on the weekend of 13/14th July.

  • We also continue our long association with the Tongham Motor Club which was formed in 1972. Based at Brick Kiln Farm in Four Marks and with 30 races or more per meeting TMC aims to provide affordable motor racing for its drivers and an exciting day out for spectators.

  • We continue to support Fleet Town FC who are proud to display R Collard advertising boards at their ground.

  • We are also proud sponsors of the North Stand at Aldershot Football Club. Aldershot who play in the Vanarama National League have their next home game against Gateshead on Saturday 2nd March.
