Charity and community news - October 2019

  • Our adopted Minion Garden at Frimley Park Hospital is looking fantastic. Mary Kinsella and her team’s latest visit involved re-covering the garden with stone from our quarry as the previous stones didn’t match or cover the membrane. Huge thanks to one of our drivers, Graham Apps, who has been a massive part of our continued support of this very worthwhile initiative. Staff at Frimley park Hospital commented “The garden looks fab and is getting lots of attention from patients, visitors and social media!'
  • We are proud sponsors or Pinewood Star Boxing Club and are happy to report that Pinewood had three boys boxing in the Boxing European Youth Championship in Russia. Joe Cooper, RJ Draper and Adam Aziz boxed five times each and won three silver medals and were very unlucky not to win gold.
  • We held another Macmillan coffee morning at our head office in Eversley and raised £271.02. Well done to all bakers and contributors.
  • We are happy to support a local company, JDB Contractors, as they compete in The Italian Job 2019 driving a Mini Cooper with 70 other vehicles across Europe. They are raising money for Buttle UK, a charity with a mission for maintenance, education and advancement of children and young people who through poverty and family circumstances are in need of support.
  • We are pleased to continue to support the Yateley Fireworks Fiesta on behalf of the Yateley Lions. This year the fireworks will be held on Saturday 2nd November at Yateley School.
  • We are proud sponsors of the North Stand at Aldershot Football Club.
  • We continue to support Fleet Town FC who are proud to display R Collard advertising boards at their ground.
