Charles Kingsley 200 Festival

Date: 13/06/2019

We were proud to be sponsors of the CK200 event in Eversley, celebrating the life of Charles Kingsley on the 14th and 15th June.

Charles Kingsley (1819-1875) was a popular children's author and clergyman from Eversley who achieved worldwide fame with his children’s fable “The Water-Babies”, first published in 1863.

The festival was a great success with activities for all ages in the beautiful outdoor setting of the Mount. Activities included an outdoor opera spectacular, puppets, theatre, a pageant, nature walks, stalls and talks. R Collard flags and staff members were in attendance offering help and advice for all our services and we were happy to help the event organisers with Heras safety fencing, wheelie bins and skips to collect and recycle waste from this local event.

Due to the rainfall on the morning of the event, we were able to help out some more by donating a lorry load of plainings for the path leading into the car park, enabling the cars to get into the car park safely.

All proceeds from the event will be shared between Charles Kingsley’s school, which our Managing Director Robert Collard attended and ChildHope UK, an international charity working to help the lives of vulnerable and neglected children in developing nations.
