Collard Racing News - September 2019

Date: 19/09/2019

Rob Collard had his best weekend so far this year with his first pole position of the season and brought home more silverware at his home track of Thruxton in the BTCC. Youngest son Charlie Collard who is just four months old made his first trip to watch Dad race and clearly brought him good luck!

Rob, Sterling Insurance with Power Maxed Racing Vauxhall Astra #9 said: “The car felt great this weekend and I'm really happy for the team to achieve a decent points haul from two P6 finishes and a podium. Obviously I'm gutted that we didn’t get the win in race 3 but I’m pretty sure that had it not rained we had that in the bag, as I’d pulled out a measured gap and had it all under control."

The next race for Rob is Sunday 29th September at Silverstone.

Ricky Collard had a very successful outing at the Nürburgring with the first international race win for the new Aston Martin Vanquish and Ricky’s first win in the highly competitive Blancpain Championship. Victory at the Nürburgring was undoubtedly one of the highlights of the season for Ricky and his team mate and as a result, the Anglo-German duo booked eighth place in the drivers’ championship of the Blancpain GT World Challenge Europe.

Jordan Collard finished his British GT Championship year at Donington with another strong weekend where he finished 4th overall in the GT4 Championship. This is a fantastic achievement in his first year as a professional racing driver for McLaren.
