Collard Racing - October 2020

Date: 14/10/2020

Rob Collard’s race weekend at Snetterton on the 3rd/4th October was a game of two halves with a fantastic P2 in race one but a seat belt issue during the pitstops in race two cost the Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan 20 seconds and a probable podium. Rob and team-mate Sandy Mitchell are currently six points behind the leaders in the championship with everything to play for in the Intelligent Money British GT3 season finale at Silverstone on the 7th/8th November

Ricky Collard’s next outing will be as a co-driver in the Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan with dad Rob at the Spa 24 Hours race over the weekend of 24th/25th October. This is the first time that Rob Collard will be driving in a 24 hour race but also a first for father and son competing together in the same car so will be an exciting race for the Collard family.

Jordan Collard claimed his second victory of the season in race two at Snetterton to set up what promises to be a nail-biting championship decider at Silverstone next month. Jordan put on a stunning charge during the second half of the race to catch and pass the championship leader to secure the victory. As Jordan received the HHC car in fourth place he lit up the timing screens proceeding to drag past O’Brien for third down the pit straight. He then zipped past Flewitt and set his sights on Vaughan. After thinking better of a risky move around the outside at Coram, Collard eventually got a run alongside the Aston out of Murrays and the race was done. The updated championship situation sees Caroline/Vaughan 2.5 points clear of Collard/Matthiesen ahead of Silverstone on the 7th/8th November.
