Collard Racing - September 2020

Date: 17/09/2020

Rob Collard celebrated scoring a maiden victory at Brands Hatch in his Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo for Barwell Motorsport in the British GT3 Championship on the late August bank holiday weekend. Rob also raced at the six hour Nurburgring World GT Series where he qualified 3rd and had a strong race until an unfortunate contact took him out of the lead, his team ultimately finished 6th. The British GT then travelled to Donington Park where the #78 Barwell Lamborghini showed promising pace all weekend with Rob eventually finishing in sixth place. Barwell still leads the GT3 Teams Championship and Rob is lying second in the Driver’s Championship.

Ricky Collard has been asked to coach a young F4 Venezuelan driver which has taken him to Oulton Park and Knockhill this month. This is alongside his work commitments as a junior estimator in the demolition department of the family business. Ricky also had a late call to race a factory Lamborghini in the GT World Challenge Europe at the Nurburgring which put him in the same race as his father Rob where he finished 6th in the Silver Cup.

Jordan Collard bounced back from his tyre blowout at Brands Hatch by taking his first win of the season at Donington on 19th and 20th September. He is now back in title contention after showing great pace all weekend and driving superbly to fend off heavy pressure. He now lies P3 in the Championship as the British GT travels to Snetterton for two one-hour sprint races on the 3rd and 4th of October.
