Harris Hawk comes to visit

Date: 16/04/2018

Over the last three months we have been graced with the presence of a Harris hawk at our Greenford demolition site.

Tinker who is a year old and his owner Dave Arnold one of our supervisors have been discouraging and deterring the pigeons from occupying the buildings that are about to be demolished.

The Harris hawk is a medium-large bird of prey that breeds from the south western United States, Chile, central Argentina, and Brazil.

Harris hawks range in length from 46 to 59 cm (18 to 23 in) and generally have a wingspan of about 103 to 120 cm (41 to 47 in) with the females being larger by about 35%.
