Supporting World Mental Health Day

Date: 16/10/2018

October the 10th was World Mental Health Day (World Federation For Mental Health) and R Collard recognised this with a number of events designed to help our staff deal with a range of mental health issues they may have been experiencing at work or at home.

Some of the most commonly experienced symptoms of stress and anxiety, right through to more complex mental health conditions such as depression and bipolar disorder are the cause of around 70 million lost working days each year in the UK.

In support of World Mental Health Day, our staff events designed to get people thinking and talking about mental health included:

  • Specially tailored mental health awareness ‘Toolbox Talks’ delivered to over 150 staff, designed to get people with shared problems to connect
  • Mental Health First Aid Course was delivered to our frontline managers and supervisors to help spot and understand mental health issues to know how to help our employees
  • Specialist counsellors available to point people in the right direction to access the care they need

We realise that life doesn’t come with a hard hat, so let’s help to protect it.
