Loler Crane Tested Skips

Collard offer 6 & 8yd crane-liftable & LOLER tested skips

We provide a range of 6 and 8 yard crane-liftable & LOLER tested skips. These skips are the perfect for dealing with waste from multi-storey buildings, including those under construction.

If you are working on a construction site that operates on multi-story heights, crane-tested and liftable hook skips could be an ideal solution for managing your waste. They provide the ability for you to store your waste in a typical skip container when you are working at high levels.

Hiring a crane tested skip with Collard is similar to hiring a regular skip. However, due to the way that crane-tested skips are used, there are additional Health & Safety requirements you should be aware of.

Safety Considerations when Lifting Skips

When a skip is required to be lifted via a crane, a normal skip does not meet the statutory Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER).

Lifting a non-tested skip presents a number of high risks as the lugs on a standard skip are not designed to sustain long periods of time in suspension and should this fail when lifted into the air, the consequences could be catastrophic.

If you do require a skip container to be crane-lifted, then you should inform us when arranging your service so that a suitable crane tested skip container can be provided to meet your requirements.

Collard LOLER crane tested skips are weight-tested and examined under LOLER, ensuring the lifting accessory (the hooks) are safe. This gives you peace of mind when lifting skips on your site with a crane.

You should also be aware of what waste is going into a LOLER crane tested skip and how much. Under LOLER, hook crane tested skips should carry no more than 6 tonnes. It is therefore important that your skip is not overfilled and that you don’t put in materials that can make the skip too-heavy.
