The racing season is in full swing for our founder Rob Collard and his son Ricky.
After a definitive win for the father and son paring in the first race weekend of the 2024 season at Oulton Park, they headed next to Silverstone for the prestigious ‘500’ race. As they neared the end of the three-hour endurance race, their Barwell Motorsport Lamborghini was in prime position to clinch the Pro-Am win until a late safety car unbuckled their strategy and they rescued 5th from a race that was theirs for the taking.
Rob then headed to Italy for the first round of the European Sprint championship. With two one-hour races – one in daylight and one in the dark – Rob and teammate Sandy Mitchell began their title fight. It wasn’t to be though, with two 5th place finishes and disappointment particularly in race 2 where the win was in sight before problems in their driver-change pit stop lost them critical seconds.
Meanwhile, Ricky has been getting in mileage at the circuit Spa Francorchamps with an official test session ahead of the gruelling 24-hour race next month.
