It’s been a solid year for all of our Collard racers. Rob had two wins in the GT World Challenge Europe endurance championship and finished 2nd overall in the pro-am class while Ricky finished the top performing Toyota driver in the ultra-competitive British Touring Car Championship.
We’re big supporters of motorsport and are proud to sponsors some riders and racers on two wheels and four in other series.
Our Group Transport Director Roddy Taylor raced in the Real Roads Series with rounds at Scarbrough, Isle Of Man and Cookstown, Armoy and Bishops Court in Ireland. He won three races on his ER700cc Kawasaki finishing in the top ten. At Scarborough’s Oliver’s Mount Circuit he took on the role of riders’ representative as well as the instructor for any newcomers to the event. Roddy used his knowledge and experience to help up-and-coming stars of the motorcycle road race world to make the transition from short circuit racing to the real roads of Ireland and the Isle Of Man as safely as possible by getting them up to speed. Next year he is hoping to be part of a very exciting and experienced line-up in the classic superbike endurance series and we wish him luck!
Meanwhile young-gun Jayden Williams has had a really good year too. He is currently leading his Portsmouth MX Club Championship and will progress to a 125cc bike to race in the youth championship next year. In 2023, he’s competed in the BSMA Nationals coming 5th overall and also took part in in the 90 minute Western Beach race and came an incredible 20th out of 200 riders!
On four wheels, Andy Harris has had a lightning fast year in stock cars having won the world Championship last year and coming runner-up this year. He won the European championship, Points championship and National championship! Incredible!
