Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Commencement

  • To assist in the recording of new works enquiries.
  • Completing site visits for potential new clients to obtain the required information to complete the pricing and planning of tender submissions.
  • Ensuring contract programmes are developed and communicated to the senior management team with planning of notification dates included to ensure client expectations are met.

Contract Delivery

  • Development of project documentation including the drafting of licensed and non-licensed method statements and risk assessments.
  • Submittal of HSE notifications in a timely manner to meet project programme dates.
  • Ensuring that the site teams are getting the right support and resources to achieve a successful project outcome.
  • Ensuring site teams are completing all required documentation for the project and uploading and maintaining all relevant information needed for reporting and record keeping requirements.
  • Providing technical and contractual support to the site teams when required.

HSQE

  • Ensuring all works carried out comply with all current HSE legislation, ACOP’s and company management systems and policies.
  • Providing HSQE management whilst promoting and ensuring safe working practices and methodologies across ongoing projects to minimise incidents and or injuries.
  • Contributing to changes to company policies and / or procedures.
  • Monitoring compliance during the project works and completion of audits to establish trends and working practises.
  • Maintaining continuous communication with the project team to ensure fully up to date with project progression.

Commercial

  • Ensuring project forecasts are understood to allow strong commercial control and delivery for all projects.
  • Ensuring that the site team report any potential variations and claims to allow the commercial team to make the client aware.
  • To have a good commercial understanding of project costs and manage project spends accordingly.
  • Reviewing contract performance with the senior management and commercial team to ensure financial targets are met on all projects.
  • Ensuring a good understanding of the commercial position of projects for month end reporting to the operations director.
  • Ensuring that project files are completed by auditing them on their return to the office and once confirmed complete, communicate with the commercial team to raise the invoice or application.

Our People

  • Assisting in the organisation of availability of skilled operatives to ensure the capability exists to meet business requirements.
  • Managing and motivating site teams, setting clear expectations and ensuring compliant delivery of projects.
  • Ensuring all operatives and site staff are fully trained and competent to complete their daily tasks in a safe and efficient manner.

Customers

  • Developing, managing and maintaining relationships with key clients, industry bodies and other external organisations to ensure that the company reputation is maintained and enhanced.
  • Investigating and resolving customer issues.

Reporting

  • Preparing an honest overview of operational and contractual performance on a monthly basis.
  • Continuous engagement with the senior management team to ensure the company is up to speed with all ongoing projects and are made aware of potential contractual and commercial risks.

The Successful candidate will have:

  • RSPH Level 4 licensed contract manager (desirable)
  • H&S and other industry training certification
  • CSCS card
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience in a similar role in contract and operations management ideally within the licensed asbestos removal sector
  • Ability to provide a clear picture on operational performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Ability to be an effective communicator at all levels
  • Proven record of being an excellent team player, with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and push projects forward in a challenging commercial environment whilst remaining compliant to current regulation and legislation.
  • Ability to involve others in decisions, accept accountability and empower people to act whilst being clear about expectations
  • Ability to effectively utilise a range of software including the MS office suite and have a good level of understanding of IT systems and applications.
