Award winning demolition at Horlicks site

Date: 14/07/2020

It was an honour to be awarded 'Contractor of the Month' in June for our demolition work for client the Berkeley Group at the Horlicks site in Slough.

The site is considered by most locals to be the most iconic building within Slough. The developer Berkeley Homes purchased the site and planning was agreed in November 2019.

Our demolition work started off with soft stripping and removing asbestos throughout all the buildings on site before the structural demolition work. Once all the demolition has been completed we will set out and construct the pile mats for the new development buildings. The current project end date is October 2020.

The new development will provide up to 1,300 new homes including blocks of flats of up to 14 storeys, as well as mews housing. Listed building consent is being sought separately for the relocation of the Grade II listed Horlicks War Memorial to form part of a new public square on this site. The development will include 25% affordable homes as well as shops, restaurants and a nursery.
