Charity and community news - January 2020

Date: 14/01/2020
  • We were happy to help Piaroo’s Wish, a small charity run by volunteers that helps homeless and vulnerable people in central Reading providing food, clothing, support and information. Staff and customers at our Reading office collected toiletries, pet food, clothes, sweets and gift sets which were delivered to the charity’s site in Great Knolly Street. Mary at Piaroo commented that 'it was heart-warming to receive such a thoughtful donation’

  • The Reading office also held a toy appeal for the second year running for children who are in the Royal Berkshire Hospital over the Christmas period. The hospital hold a Christmas party for patients and their siblings to ensure each child receives a present from Father Christmas. Any toys or games that have not been given out will be divided between the playrooms for patients to play with during their stay in hospital throughout the year. The nurses were very impressed with the amount of toys we donated. One of our drivers; Paul Rowledge was very sporting and happily wore the Santa suit.

  • We are pleased to continue our sponsorship of the Tongham Motor Club ‘Novice Juniors’.

  • We were also happy to continue our support of the local community by helping the Brain Tumour Charity, Witley and District MCC and St Michaels School in Sandhurst.

  • We are proud sponsors of the North Stand at Aldershot Football Club and continue to support Fleet Town FC who are proud to display R Collard advertising boards at their ground.
