Firmhurst Farm, Deepcut

These works included the demolition of the existing structures and ground remediation to make way for the development of a new housing estate.

The project posed some significant challenges in regard to the previous uses down through the years.

A number of processes were applied to the material found on site to minimise both the need for vehicle movement, and reducing the financial impact on the project.

A number of live services, both buried and overhead were identified during the pre-demolition audit. This pre planned activity allowed the site team to plan and negate the impact of these services on the programme.

Summary of the Scope of Works:

The works include applying for BAPA (Network rail permit)
Repairs to Network rail boundary fencing
Demolition of existing steel frame structures, removal of building foundations to a depth of 2m under arboriculture’s supervision within tree root protection area
Removal of asbestos both licenced and non-licenced products. Site wide clearance of fly-tipped COSHH waste and asbestos.
Segregation / Screening of site hazardous materials, as identified with the clients 3rd party investigations and reports. Aim to declassify various waste streams
Testing of all materials on site
Crushing generated hardcore from the demolition and foundation removal for the purpose of reuse on site by the client
Screening of materials to reduce muck away costs to the client
